Library hosts Holiday Night
The Tipp City Library is always booming with activities and events that keep the community of Tippecanoe entertained and eager to visit. This month, the caring staff put together a memorable night for many families. On December 9th, families and community members were invited to enjoy a holiday-themed night at their local public library.
Holiday cheer was spread and enjoyed throughout the stacks of books at Tipp City Library. Children, parents, and community members enjoyed various activities, such as cookie decorating, snowflake making, and other Christmas crafts. And a visit with the one and only Santa Claus.
The spirit of Christmas decorated the halls of the library on the evening of the ninth. However, the holiday open house also opened doors and created opportunities for more reading as well. The excitement of seeing Santa or making crafts is only part of what makes Christmas and a Christmas-themed event so enjoyable. Reading is also one of the most beloved parts of the season. So many gather around with loved ones to hear Twas the Night Before Christmas or A Christmas Carol.
Reading plays such a key part in not only so many Christmas memories but childhood memories in general. This is part of what makes the Tipp City Library the perfect place for such a celebratory event. The library believes that one of the most important things about events like these is that they inspire children to want to read. Even just placing children in the atmosphere of books guides them to understand their magic. During the holiday night, children could exercise this by searching and sifting through shelves and layers of words and knowledge in a scavenger hunt.
Tipp City Library hosts more than just their holiday event. This was just one of many successes. The local library creates a space where community members feel welcomed and eager to participate in reading. Events from weekly story times to the Lego building create a space for children to interact with their peers while enjoying the library atmosphere. They even provide a competitive setting with events like their upcoming 2025 reading challenge. Activities like “bring your device” or yoga are available for adults searching for the same inspiration. However, the family night combined all of these aspects into one for a spectacular celebration.
The Tipp City Library is always creating an effort for immersion into the wonderful world of reading, and in turn, has become one of the most coveted parts of the community. During the holiday night, Tippecanoe shared laughter, learning, experiences, and the holiday spirit.
