Aviator’s Jordan Gross Signs with Marshall
Butler Aviator Senior Jordan Gross signs to run track for Marshall University. Coach Sutherland recognized Jordan’s talent during his freshman year, honoring him as Rookie of the Year. Coach sharpened Jordan’s talent over the years as Jordan continues to improve each season. Jordan holds records in both the 100m and 200m races, along with several relays. He has been recognized and awarded with All League, Regional, District, and State Honors over the years. His recognition included MVL Athlete of the Year and State Honorable Mention. Jordan had broken countless records over his high school career. However, perhaps the first record he broke was the most exciting for the coach and athlete. Coach Sutherland himself held this record.
Coach Sutherland said, “Jordan is a tremendous athlete and an even better student and leader. He has elevated the standard for our program and has earned every opportunity he has been granted. His work ethic, leadership, and drive will be a huge asset to the Marshall Track and Field program and the University. I can't wait to see how the final chapter of his high school career plays out, but he has already left his legacy on this program.”
“I am fortunate for the opportunity to coach and train all of the kids over their four years with us, but this group will always be special to me. I am excited to see how high this group can climb, and Jordan and his teammates have already begun their work towards the outdoor season,” said Coach Sutherland.
