Three Tipp softball players honored by MVL coaches

The coaches of the Miami Valley League announced their all-conference softball team last week, which included three members of the Tippecanoe squad.

Coming off of an 8-10 league record, Tipp did not have anyone voted to the first-team all-conference, a group of 14 players heavily dominated by seven players from league champion Greenville and three from runner-up Butler.

Named to the first-team list included Jami Brockert, Natalie Harris and Addison Suess, all from Butler, who finished 16-2 in league play. Only Greenville finished higher, as they were 17-1 overall.

Joining the Butler trio on the first team includes from Greenville Kylar Arnett, Addie Burk, Zoey Burns, Mahayla Cook, Kendall Cromwell, Haleigh McDermitt, and Ella McClear.

Also on the first team were Amayah Kennedy and Abby Seger from Troy, and Hailey Webb from Fairborn.

Tipp had one player on the second team, as junior Emily Aselage found a spot with a season average of .418 with 38 hits and 16 runs batted in.

Joining Aselage among the second team honorees includes Butler’s Breanna Christy and Kaylee Worrell, along with Alexis Ater, Sophia Knife, and Mimi Shaw of Troy; Aubrey Bean, Julia Coppess, and Elizabeth Hubbard from Piqua; Kyleigh Cook and Rose McReynolds of Fairborn; Natalie Russell from Stebbins; and Maria Smith of Xenia.

Two members of the Red Devils were named to the Honorable Mention team – junior Gracie Raiff and sophomore Charlize McCormick.

Other league members earning mention include Olivia Cochran and Carsen Oda from West Carrollton; Lilia Gopar and Jaylyn Watkins from Stebbins; Kelis McNeal, Hailey Richardson, and Ivey Roberts from Sidney; Taylan Swartz of Piqua; and Dakota Wagner of Xenia.

The Red Devils advanced to the second round of the sectionals defeating Carroll before losing to Indian Lake. Greenville advanced into the regional semis and advanced further than any conference team.
