Several Red Devils honored for football success

With success comes recognition for the Tippecanoe football team. Coming off a Miami Valley League championship this season and a third-round playoff appearance, the Red Devils saw several of their players honored by the coaches in the conference, as the MVL all-conference teams were recently announced.

Eight Red Devils were selected to the MVL First-Team, filling nine positions. Senior Cael Liette was honored as both a running back with 1,258 yards this season and 23 touchdowns and as a linebacker for his work on both sides of the line of scrimmage, finishing with 117 tackles, including 55 solo tackles. Fellow senior Evan Liette was also selected to the First-Team as he was honored for his job this season from the wide receiver position. Liette caught 62 passes this season for 790 yards with nine touchdowns.

Senior defensive back Andrew Oen also earned a spot on First-Team as a defensive back (second on the team with 82 tackles with four interceptions) while quarterback Peyton Schultz also landed on the team. On the season, Schultz threw for 1,668 yards and 21 touchdowns with 11 interceptions, finishing with a quarterback rating of 150.4.

Three more seniors were named to the First-Team, including offensive lineman Jackson Smith, defensive lineman Trace Trent, and kicker Kade Teel (2/2 on field goal attempts and 21/27 on extra points). The only non-senior from Tippecanoe to find a spot on the team was returner Jackson Davis, who had 245 yards worth of kickoff returns.

Landing on the Second-Team were senior defensive lineman Christian Hartman (50 tackles on the season and 2.5 sacks), senior defensive back Lucas Merry (69 tackles and five interceptions), and senior wide receiver Jeremy Walland, who finished the season with 136 yards receiving and a touchdown.

Three more Red Devils were named to the all-conference Honorable Mention, including senior defensive player Logan Bowling, junior offensive player Bryson Singleton, and sophomore Collin Isaac, another defensive player for the Red Devils.

The remaining players named to the first-team were Eli Biddle, defensive lineman from Sidney; linebacker Ronnie Butler from Xenia; linebacker Dohnavan Collins from Butler; wide receiver Tayven Crump from Butler; defensive back Austin Flohre from Butler; offensive lineman Gabe Funk from Xenia; wide receiver Rayvonn Harris of Stebbins; running back Elijah Johnson from Xenia; defensive lineman Derek Jones from Piqua; running back Jayden Kidd from Fairborn; defensive back Allen Mabson of Butler; linebacker Sam Mitchell from Sidney; wide receiver Ethen New of Sidney; offensive lineman Parker Nicols from Troy; defensive lineman Logan Shupe from Butler; offensive player JT Smith of Fairborn; defensive back Aiden Solis from Xenia; offensive player Julius Spradling from Sidney; offensive lineman Sean Wentling of Butler; offensive lineman Jake Wheelock from Stebbins; and a group of players from Troy, including defensive lineman Devon Strobel, defensive back Logan Ullery, running back Jhari Ward, and linebacker Kaden Zimmer.
