Located in the former New Carlisle Federal Savings Bank building, the branch has already become a trusted presence in town. Now, the team is ready to welcome everyone for a day of refreshments, giveaways, and friendly conversation. Some information about the Tipp City branch:

Branch Manager Excited about new location

“We’re bringing more than just financial services we’re bringing the care, attention, and support that every member of this community deserves,” Tipp City Branch Manager Danielle Daugherty stated recently. “It’s about being there for our neighbors, not just as a credit union, but as people who genuinely care. This branch is about creating a better future not just financially, but personally for everyone who walks through our doors. We’re excited to be a part of the journey with Tipp City.”

She said she hopes to build relationships with members here in Tipp by “showing up, getting involved, and simply being ourselves. We want to be more than a branch we want to be part of the Tipp City family. That means listening, supporting, and always being ready to lend a hand with warmth and sincerity.”

When asked about what community values or goals align with Abbey Credit Union’s mission, Daugherty said “Tipp City is all about connection, growth, and looking out for one another and that’s exactly what Abbey stands for. Our mission is to improve lives, and we do that by offering resources, guidance, and genuine care that help our members thrive financially and personally.”

The Tipp City branch will offer a full range of financial services, including personal and business services, home lending and consumer loans. But more than anything, the Abbey team is excited to build meaningful relationships with their new members. “By showing up, getting involved, and simply being ourselves, we want to be part of the Tipp City family,” Danielle shared. “That means listening, supporting, and always being ready to lend a hand with warmth and sincerity.”

Reflecting on Abbey’s mission, she added “This branch is about creating a better future not just financially, but personally for everyone who walks through our doors. We’re excited to be a part of the journey with Tipp City.”

Abbey Credit Union: Some History

Some history about Abbey Credit Union: they were incorporated on November 17, 1937, under the name of “The Inland Employees Credit Union” governed by the State of Ohio.  It was chartered initially to serve the employees, families, and retirees of The Inland Division of General Motors, (later known as Delphi Chassis and Delphi Interior & Lighting Systems), offering savings and loans. At their Annual Meeting on January 20, 1956, the members voted on a new name for the Credit Union.

The name Abbey Credit Union was officially listed on the Board Minutes for March 21, 1956. The name was printed on a letter head dated October 4, 1956, with the address of 103 Abbey Avenue, Dayton, Ohio. The name was taken from Abbey Avenue. They acquired the A O Smith Employees Federal Credit Union in Tipp City, OH 45371 on January 1, 2012.

Abbey Credit Union has been serving its members and community for nearly nine decades, originally incorporated on November 17, 1937, as “The Inland Employees Credit Union” for General Motors’ Inland Division employees. The name “Abbey” was adopted in 1956, inspired by its first home on Abbey Avenue in Dayton.

Abbey Credit Union has proudly served Miami County for many years, and while we’ve supported members in Tipp City since merging with A.O. Smith Employees Federal Credit Union in 2012, the opening of this branch marks our first full-service physical location right here in Tipp City a meaningful milestone in our commitment to the community.
