Eidemillers celebrate 50 years of marriage
Mike and Paula (Guinther) Eidemiller celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on February 14, 2025. They met at the Forest Park She Night Club in April 1974. Typically, Mike was bowling on Tuesday night, but this he was between leagues. Paula worked at McCrory in Troy and had a random Tuesday night off.
Both ended up at the She, and Mike asked Paula to dance. At the end of the night, he asked for her phone number. Paula thought he wasn’t going to ask her out, but lo and behold, he called Thursday night for a Friday night date.
Mike’s plan was to ask Paula to be his bride at Christmas 1974. But he was unable to wait, so he proposed while at the Dixie Drive-In movies in August.
So, just ten months later, Mike and Paula got married at the First Lutheran Church in Troy on a snowy Friday, February 14, 1975. They almost had to walk through the snow to the reception when their car wouldn’t start. As luck would have it, Paula’s oldest brother Pat had not left the church and gave them a ride.
Mike and Paula made their home in Tipp City, where they raised their three daughters, Jamie, Shelly, and Jenny. The Eidemillers also have six grandchildren, Gabby (only granddaughter), Jace, Kaden, Dylan, Ryley, and Blake.
Mike and Paula both said they have had their fair share of ups and downs, but their love has remained strong.
We wish them many more happy years together.
