City Manager’s Weekly Update

Uptown Redevelopment- The City of Tipp City is now the proud owner of the Tipp City Plaza! Over the next few months, several improvements will be made, including parking lot repairs, landscaping enhancements, and necessary mechanical upgrades. Additionally, the City will evaluate exterior lighting and recommend repairs or additions to improve safety for visitors. Our goal is to make a noticeable difference in the plaza’s condition by spring, ensuring a more welcoming and attractive gateway to Tipp City.

Tri-Cities North Regional Wastewater Authority (TCA)- The Cities of Tipp City, Vandalia, and Huber Heights jointly own and operate the Tri-Cities Wastewater Authority (TCA) treatment facility. TCA is currently in the design phase of a major plant improvement project to meet EPA standards, accommodate increased flows from all three communities, and upgrade aging infrastructure. Construction is expected to begin in 2026 and be completed by 2029. While the wastewater treatment plant isn’t always top of mind, this project will have a significant impact on Tipp City’s future, ensuring long-term efficiency and compliance for our community.

Cybersecurity Training- Tipp City has launched a mandatory city-wide cybersecurity training program, funded by the State of Ohio at no cost to the City. This initiative will ensure that all staff are educated and equipped to protect both the City and our residents from cybersecurity threats. A special thank you to Doug Arnold, the City’s IT Manager, for his leadership in implementing this important program!

ADA Curb Ramp Project- The City, in partnership with Miami County, has secured $70,000 in Community Development Block Grant funds to upgrade 23 curb ramps, ensuring they meet ADA compliance standards. Work on these improvements began this week and is expected to continue through early May.

Serve Your Community- Tipp City is seeking dedicated residents to serve on various City Boards, including:

·         Board of Zoning Appeals

·         Cable Access Commission

·         Restoration & Architectural Board

·         Tree Board

Interested residents should complete an application and submit it to Janice Bates, Clerk of Council. Make a difference in Tipp City!

My Tipp City Mobile Application- I want to continue to encourage everyone to download the app to stay updated on city services and news. It’s a great way to stay up on City news and also be notified quickly during City emergencies like power outages, road closures, etc. Scan the QR code to get started. Thank you for your continued support and engagement with our city's progress.
