Stacks of Tipp Library Books — on a TV Show?
Did you spot a big truck downtown last week and people loading up books? Well, the Tipp City Library donated nearly 2,500 discarded and donated books to a very unique cause: the books will be used in the background for some scenes in episodes of season 3 of the “Mayor of Kingstown,” a popular TV show on Netflix. The director of the library has a connection to the set designer and helped him out.
The show is currently in production for season 3 — production was delayed due to the lead, Jeremy Renner, being nearly killed in a snow plow accident. According to an article in the Hollywood Reporter, Renner “returned to filming Jan. 10, just over a year after he was critically injured upon being run over by a 14,300-pound snowcat at his home in Reno, Nevada, on New Year’s Day in 2023. The actor suffered 30 broken bones, and later said that this rib cage was rebuilt with metal, along with plates in his face to support his eye sockets and titanium rods in one of his legs. Throughout the process, he’s remained open about his road to recovery on social media.”
