Schools: Soil Borings Happening this weekend
From the Tipp City Schools Facebook page:
“Beginning on Thursday, Tipp City Schools will conduct soil boring tests near Tippecanoe Middle School and LT Ball to determine suitable soil for construction before building the new bus/maintenance garage and PK-8 structure. This step provides information needed to support the planned buildings and guide foundation design and construction methods.
A drilling rig, resembling a small truck with a tall mast, will be used by a team of workers to collect soil and rock samples. The rig drills small-diameter holes into the ground, with each boring taking up to several hours, depending on the required depth and subsurface conditions. Once the borings are extracted, workers will fill the holes immediately for safety.
Since students are off on Friday and Monday, potential disruption will be minimal.
Thank You.
