From the City Manager: April 2
City Manager’s Weekly Update
Miami Co. Educational Service Center (ESC)- This week, I had the opportunity to meet with staff from the Miami County ESC. The meeting focused on their ongoing work to better understand the local job market and advocate for curriculum development that ensures graduating high school students can successfully step into entry-level positions within the county. Their efforts are essential in addressing the workforce needs of local businesses and fostering a stronger connection between education and employment.
2025 Regional Water & Sewer Rate Survey- Each year, a regional survey is conducted to compare water and wastewater costs for municipalities across the region. This data helps us stay competitive while ensuring that our rates align with neighboring communities.
Tippecanews - Be on the lookout for the City’s quarterly newsletter, Tippecanews. The upcoming edition will highlight ongoing and upcoming projects, updates on community initiatives, and important city announcements. It will be available on our website and included with April’s utility bills.
Tri-Cities North Regional Wastewater Authority- This week, TCA’s ongoing improvement project was featured in a quarterly publication for the Ohio Water Environment Association (OWEA), Ohio’s statewide wastewater association. I appreciate the efforts of TCA’s General Manager, Danny Knife, and Hazen and Sawyer for their work in submitting this article, which highlights the importance of this project for the region.
Capital Project Update- This week, staff opened bids for the new pickleball court project at Kyle Park. I’m pleased to report that the bids came in well under budget, which is great news for the project and the City. A resolution to approve the project will be presented to City Council at the April 7th Council Meeting. If approved, the contractor is expected to begin work this summer, with the goal of having the courts ready for play later this year.
Serve Your Community- Tipp City is seeking dedicated residents to serve on various City Boards, including:
Board of Zoning Appeals
Cable Access Commission
Restoration & Architectural Board
Tree Board
Interested residents should complete an application and submit it to Janice Bates, Clerk of Council. Make a difference in Tipp City!
My Tipp City Mobile Application- I want to continue to encourage everyone to download the app to stay updated on city services and news. It’s a great way to stay up on City news and also be notified quickly during City emergencies like power outages, road closures, etc. Scan the QR
code below to get started.
Thank you for your continued support and engagement with our city's progress.
