The owner of Red Devil Pizza and Deli on South Second Street says the new restaurant and deli could open in the next two weeks.

“We’re actually trying to open in the next couple of weeks,” Red Devil Pizza and Deli owner Jason Pierce said. “We already have our signs up and everything.”

Pierce said the opening date would be posted on Red Devil Pizza and Deli's Facebook page.

“We don’t have a website yet, just the Facebook page,” he said. “We’ll do a special that we’ll put on Facebook; I will post when we are going to do the opening.”

“I usually post something every day,” he said.

Pierce, who also owns JJ’s Lunchbox location on South Market Street in Troy, recently purchased DJ’s Pizza Alley from a friend, who acquired the business when its previous owners decided to retire.

“As soon as he bought it, he called me the next day,” Pierce said. “I ended up buying it from him.”

“He didn’t want it to just be an empty, vacant building,” he said.

The Red Devil Pizza and Deli menu will feature selections from DJ’s and JJ’s Lunchbox, including pizza and subs, wings, deli items, and more.

“We’re still going to sell a few of DJ’s subs,” Pierce said. “We’re going to add our wings and some of our subs.”

“Our Troy store has a full homemade deli,” he said. “That has all the salads, lunch meat, cheeses, and dips.”

“We’re bringing the deli to Tipp City,” he said.

Pierce said Red Devil Pizza and Deli will continue DJ’s delivery service and introduce catering services. The deli will also carry basic groceries, including milk, bread, and eggs.

“We’re going to keep the delivery they always did, and we are offering catering services,” Pierce said. “At our Troy store, we do a lot of graduation parties and birthdays, funerals, weddings, and things like that.”

“We’re going to sell milk, eggs, cheese, bread and butter,” he said. “Tipp City doesn’t have a grocery store. I live here, and I hate having to go all the way to Vandalia or Troy to get a loaf of bread or cheese.”

Red Devil Pizza and Deli will be open from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays. The restaurant and deli is located at 18 S. Second Street.

Pierce said that as a special promotion, Red Devil Pizza and Deli will also auction off the original DJ’s Pizza Alley signs from the building’s exterior during the opening.

“The old DJ’s signs that were up, we took them down and we’re going to raffle those off when we open,” he said. “All of the proceeds will be donated to the Tipp City Athletic Department.”

Originally from Piqua, Pierce moved to Tipp City in 2013 and opened the first JJ’s Lunchbox location on South County Road 25A in January 2015. He then purchased the former Ording's Party Time in 2018 and opened a second JJ’s Lunchbox location in Troy.

“We’re happy about returning to Tipp City,” he said. “We just want to serve the community.”
