School Supply Drive 

Tipp Monroe Community Services is holding its school supply drive. Donations can be dropped off at Monroe Federal, Topsy Turvy Toys, or Zach Jacobs State Farm Insurance no later than August 1.

Supplies needed: Fine point dry erase markers, jumbo glue sticks, spiral notebooks (wide-ruled and college-ruled), composition notebooks (wide-ruled and college-ruled), Crayola classic markers (8 pack), highlights (green/yellow), 12-count colored pencils, pencil bags/boxes, 1” and 2” binders, pink erasers, 5” pointed scissors, Crayola Crayons (24 count), #2 pencils (Ticonderoga), mechanical pencils, pocket folder with/without clips, 70-page Sketch Book (6” x 9”), red and blue pens, tissues (large box), antibacterial wipes, paper towels, baggies (sandwich, quart, and gallon), backpacks, earbuds (NOT Bluetooth), rulers, TI-84 graphing calculator and TI-30XIIS calculator. Gift cards, cash and checks also accepted.

YellowHammer Clothing and Home Store, located at 111 E. Main St., Tipp City, will be closing its doors. This is a great opportunity to stock up on back-to-school items. Check out the sales before everything is gone.

Hospice to host butterfly release on August 17

Ohio’s Hospice invites the community to its Celebrating Life’s Stories® Butterfly Release to remember and honor loved ones on Saturday, Aug. 17, at 11 a.m., at Ohio’s Hospice (3230 N. County Rd. 25A, Troy). Registration will begin at 10:30 a.m.

The Butterfly Release is a way to remember and honor special people who have touched your life and who live on in your memories. After the event, participants will release butterflies in memory of their loved ones. Proceeds from the event benefit Ohio’s Hospice patient care and services.

Blood and platelet donors critically needed in July

The American Red Cross continues to stress that blood and platelet donors are critically needed to support lifesaving transfusions this summer. Donors of all blood types are in demand, especially those with type O blood and donors giving platelets.
