Dr. Ginn Celebrates 40 Years of Primary Care in West Milton

William N. Ginn, M.D. celebrated 40 years in the practice of Family Medicine on July 1, 2024. Ginn joined the practice of Kenneth J. Faze, M.D. in 1984 and has been a constant in his hometown of West Milton since then.

A graduate of Milton-Union High School in 1974, he attended Butler University in Indianapolis, graduating in 1978 with a B. S. in Zoology. He was chosen to attend The Ohio State University College of Medicine after college. At that time, medical students were attending all year round, and he graduated from med school in just three years in 1981. After a three-year residency at Miami Valley Hospital in the Family Medicine program, he came to West Milton, and the rest is history.

However, his practice is not his only job. In 2015, he was appointed to the post of Miami County Coroner. He was elected to that position in 2016 and 2020 and is a candidate again in 2024. He has also served the county as the Medical Director of the West Central Juvenile Corrections Facility since 2002.

In the community, Ginn served as the Chairman of the 2008 Levy Committee that resulted in the new Milton-Union K-12 school. He served as the Head Coach of Milton-Union’s Varsity Volleyball team, resulting in two conference championships and two “Coach of the Year” honors. The Ohio State Volleyball Coaches’ Association awarded him the “Sportsmanship, Integrity and Ethics Award” in 2009. After retiring from coaching in 2018, he became an OHSAA High School Volleyball Official and is starting his fifth year of officiating.

Ginn has been married for 45 years to his wife, Joy, also a West Milton native. He has four adult children and five grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys his comic book collection and serving as Milton-Union’s Team Physician while keeping statistics for many Milton-Union sports teams.
