Bella Gray Market opens in new Main Street location

A Tipp City destination located on Second Street since 2021, Bella Gray Market has officially moved to a new location right around the corner. The shop, known for handmade items, women and children’s clothing, accessories, and home décor, opened in its new location at 113 E. Main St. on Friday, July 12.

The Tipp City Area Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new location at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, July 26.

“It’s very similar to the old space,” Bella Gray Market owner Jess Sergent said. “It has the same vibe. We really like it here. We really wanted to be on Main Street, especially for the events happening downtown and the increased foot traffic, which we’ve noticed really already since our first few days open,” she said. “It’s definitely helping people discover our shop.”

With the move, Bella Gray Market is also offering expanded hours. “We’re trying out being open every day,” Sergent said. “We’ll be open seven days a week for now.”

“We’ll be open late for the First Friday coming up in August and any other downtown events,” she said. “We’ll always be open for those.”

Bella Gray Market carries a wide variety of clothing, accessories, home decor, and other products.

“We have women and children’s clothing and accessories, and also home décor,” Sergent said. “Some of our items are handmade, and we also purchase a lot of things from other small businesses around the U.S.”

Locally-produced items include La Petite Lavender honey and sugar scrubs, and handmade children’s clothing from Pine Grove. More information can be found online at www.bellagrayoh.com.

Bella Gray Market opened at its original location on South Second Street in September of 2021.

“It was originally opened by my mom and I,” Sergent said. “She passed away this year in June, before I moved to the new location.”

“I know that she would love that we moved here,” she said. “She would really be proud of that.”

“She was the maker of our candles in our store, which are a very popular seller,” Sergent said. “She actually taught me how to make those at the beginning of this year, so now I can still make those.”

A 2012 graduate of Tippecanoe High School, Sergent currently lives in Tipp City with her two daughters.

Bella Gray Market was opened after several successful pop-up shops in downtown Tipp City.

“My mom and I both had Etsy shops,” Sergent said. “Before we opened our store, we actually used to do a lot of pop-up shops in downtown Tipp City.”

“That was kind of how we got started,” she said.

Sergent said other family members also assisted in Bella Gray Market’s recent move to East Main Street.

“My family was extremely helpful and supportive during the move, especially my grandparents,” she said. “They helped me move and re-open the store in just six days.”
