Six Tipp football players named all-Ohio
It was an incredible season for the Tippecanoe football team. Six players were honored last week to the Division Three all-Ohio team, voted by the Ohio Prep Sports Writers Association.
Tipp finished 10-0 in the regular season and advanced to the second round of the post-season tournament.
Leading the way on the First Team were wide receiver Jackson Davis and linebacker Colin Isaac.
Davis was joined by receivers Brayden Fogle from Lexington, Brody Lennon from Gilmour Academy, Braylon Newcomb of Bellefontaine, and Marcus Hughbanks from Batavia.
Isaac received numerous honors this season as well. He was among the linebackers on the First Team along with Owen Thompson (Warren), Joey Robinson (Defiance), Landon Crosier (Steubenville), Joey Kopec (CVCA), Alexander Ash (Chardon), and Tommy Tarabini (Aurora).
Riley Nicholls, a defensive back for the Red Devils was named to the all-Ohio Second Team. The senior Nicholls was among a list of defensive backs such as Stevie Gravely (London), Bryson Winbush (Hartley), Ryan Walter (Wapakoneta), Kindall Brown (Maple Heights), and Gavin Thobe of Bellbrook. Bellbrook was a team that Tipp beat back in week one.
Sophomore Larkin Thomas was named Third Team all-Ohio at the quarterback position. He was the only sophomore quarterback named to one of the top three teams.
Thomas, who set a record with the Red Devils this season, joins a group of seniors Trey Robinette of Miami Trace, Aiden Davis of Steubenville, and junior Jack Judkins, all named to the third team.
On the offensive line, Tipp senior Alex Shellhammer was selected to the Third Team. Other linemen joining Shellhammer were Jackson Pelzer of Granville, Maverick Weaver of Licking Valley, Ben Truax of CVCA, Max Gerbus of Cleveland Villa Angela St. Joseph, Taylor Turner of Bellbrook, and Blake Holmes of Hamilton Ross.
A third Red Devil named to the Third Team was defensive lineman Max Howard, as the senior was honored alongside Daelaun Griffin of Columbus Independence, Ephy Kelley of Steubenville, Noah West of Steubenville, Trent Merrell of Elyria Catholic, and Jackson Hedin of Hawken.
