Tipp sweeps Cross Country titles

It was a clean sweep for the Tippecanoe cross country teams in the MVL league meet last weekend, as both the boys and girls brought home the team trophies as the overall champions.

The Red Devils boys team scored 36 team points, with Butler placing third overall with 68.

Tipp junior Landon Kimmel continued his outstanding running in the season with a 15:06.5 to easily capture the crown. He defeated Noah Burgh of Piqua by over 20 seconds.

Everett Muhlenkamp placed fifth for Tipp with a time of 16:20.1, while Ethan Berning was seventh with a 16:45.5. Rounding out the top ten for the Red Devils was Luke Schwieterman, who was ninth with a time of 16:57.8.

Other top 50 finishers for the Red Devils includes Dimitri Hartman (17:06.0, 14th), Eli Ramos (17:13.1, 19th), Will Hept (17:25.2, 25th), Elias Stienecker (17:28.4, 28th), Sam Stark (17:32.3, 29th), Ben Pierson (17:36.2), Mason Kinninger (18:01.0, 38th), and Nathan Kollmeyer (18:24.2, 48th).

Butler saw several of their runners among the top finishers. Rylan Dadey placed eighth as he finished the course in 16:50.2, Korey Snyder finished 11th (17:02.1), and Brayden Thomas ran 18th with a time of 17:12.6.

Other top Butler finishers were Luke Campbell (17:27.7), Levi Campbell (17:33.5), and Aiden White (17:56.2).

*In the girls race, the Red Devils led the charge with 31 points with Butler finishing third with 76.

Cecelia Campbell from Butler comfortably won the MVL championship with a time of 19:41.9, with Tipp runner Morgan Collins placing second with 20:25.1.

Also for Tipp, Sydney LaBreck placed fourth with 20:49.0, Lucia Ranly was fifth (20:50.1), and Katelyn Beeson placed sixth (20:58.1). Other Tipp top 50 finishers included Mary Waibel (22:01.0), Lauren Anderson (22:32.4), Gracie Raiff (22:45.4), Belle Stanford (23:19.0), Kali Greth (23:20.5), Jordan Boose (23:42.3), Aubrey Davis (24:04.9), Kaylen Schultz (24:13.3), and Hailee Cerda (24:15.7).

For Butler, they also had some quality finishes, including Peyton Wilmoth, who was 11th (21:45.8), along with Reese Landis (22:20.8), Althea Clifford (22:23.4), Ellie Davis (23:44.7), and Lydia Vieth (23:57.3).
