Aviators win first soccer District Championship
On October 24, the Butler women’s soccer team took the field to compete for the D3 District Championship against Batavia. Once the whistle blew, every player for Butler showed grit and determination, driving a game pace that Batavia just couldn’t compete with. Butler’s Maddie Budding opened up the scoring around the 29th minute, giving the team a lead going into halftime.
In the second half, Butler came out even stronger, dominating possession. Carmella Decker scored to make it 2-0, and Ameria Miller finished up the scoring, giving the Aviators a 3-0 win. Assists came from Kandice Washburn, Ayla Washburn, and Zania Gyan. This was the first District Championship in 25 years for the Butler Aviators!
