Tipp Kiwanis Club welcomes speaker on Isaiah’s Place

Last week, the local Kiwanis Club welcomed Penny Hoekstra, who spoke about Isaiah's Place, a therapeutic foster care agency located in Troy, OH.  Here at the Gazette, we had a feature story on them back in October. Isaiah’s Place is licensed to care for children from any county in the state. Currently, they serve 15+ counties and about 50 foster homes with a variable number of children in each home.

The Kiwanis Club mentions the following on their Facebook page: “Kids are curious, lovable, and hilarious. They are also wild, impatient, and vulnerable. Help us lookout for kids in the Tipp City area and around the globe.” They also mentioned that if people are interested in more information, the Kiwanis Club can help connect interested parties with Penny! The event was held at the Tipp Center. Visit the website for the Kiwanis Club for more information and upcoming events: https://k20693.site.kiwanis.org.

Thunder Forge Gaming growing in popularity downtown

Here at the Social Page, we’re hearing that Thunder Forge Gaming has been hosting a lot of fun events downtown lately and the location is drawing gaming fans from all over. They’ve also recently expanded some of their product offerings. They’ve got D&D books, Warhammer, Star Wars Armada sets and accessories, and Magic the Gathering tournaments. They hold events all the time and also carry lots of gaming accessories like dice and painting supplies.

The last time I dropped by, the place was hopping with kids playing games together—it was nice to see, and reminded me of the old “Big Robot Game Café,” owned by yours truly, which closed in 2010. It’s nice to see a place for young people in the downtown! To check out the store and dive into the Forge, visit their website on catch them on Facebook.
