Bethel Township has first elected all-female trustee board

Bethel Township has a historic first for Miami County with the swearing-in at their January 2 Workshop of Kama Dick, the newly elected Township Trustee.

The township is the first in Miami County with an all-female trustee board. Trustee President Julie Reese swore in Dick, as well as new fiscal officer Rhonda Ross, who kicks off the year unexpectedly in January rather than in April as the term requires, since the last fiscal officer left effective Dec. 31, 2023.

Both Ross and Dick were elected over incumbents for the positions.  Also serving as Bethel Township Trustee is Beth van Haaren. Both van Haaren and Reese terms expire on December 31, 2025.

Bethel Township also has an interim Fire Chief, Josh Schiebrel, since township administrator/fire chief Andy Ehrhart retired at the end of 2023.
