Ohio Renaissance Festival wraps up another season of fun

The enchanting world of the Ohio Renaissance Festival wrapped up another season on October 29, taking guests on a captivating journey back in time filled with unparalleled entertainment and excitement. This past weekend was “Tricks or Treats” weekend, the final of their themed weekends and the final days of the festival for 2023. Many guests came in costume, and the place was packed with children as “wee ones 12 and under” were also FREE this weekend.

Visitors enjoyed many forms of entertainment, including full-armored Jousting the way it was done over 400 years ago by “real” Knights in shining armor. “Queen Elizabeth I” presided over the festivities as dozens of Renaissance musicians, dancers, comedians, jugglers, sword-fighters, storytellers and hundreds of costumed performers entertained patrons of all ages on 17 stages.

The event was held in the picturesque village of Willy Nilly on-the-wash, this year’s festival, which ran from September 2 to October 29. This year included a new area with expanded food offerings and newly-constructed play areas.

And, starting November 14, the festival grounds will be redecorated as the Yuletide Village Season of Lights. Renaissance Park – home of the Ohio Renaissance Festival – in Warren County Ohio beckons you to take in the holiday lights, Festive shows, and delicious hot food & drinks while you visit a Yuletide Market full of unique gifts. Wander through their Rivers of Lights or stroll through Gum Drop Alley as carolers serenade guests. Be on the lookout for Santa, but beware of the wicked Krampus!

The festivities will run November 24 – December 16, 2023, Fridays: 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm Saturdays: 3:00 pm – 9:00 pm. For more information, visit yuletidevillage.com.
