Miami County Foundation Distributes $253,000
Directors of the board, including founding member, Dr. Richard Adams, and Angela Lewis, who just assumed her role as incoming president, served as co-emcees for the event, alongside Natalie Rohlfs, executive director of the foundation. Paying homage to the vision of original investor, Richard Hunt, four grant committees recommended support for programs throughout the county. With more grant applications having been received than usual, grants this fall were awarded for purposes such as fire and rescue equipment, special needs students’ learning experiences, school musical instruments, utility relief for residents, healthy relationships education for Miami County’s teens, food assistance, and capital improvement projects.
Three organizations were first-time recipients of Miami County Foundation grant funding including Miami Valley Down Syndrome Association, Samaritan Works, and Troy Historic Preservation Alliance.
In addition to the fall grant awards, John & Jean Dugan Family Fund representatives selected the St. Patrick’s Soup Kitchen to receive a $1,300 grant from its donor-advised fund.
