8:17 p.m. Disturbance reported on Windridge Place. Three females and one male were involved in a verbal domestic dispute. One female left and the others agreed to settle down for the evening.
8:58 p.m. Disturbance reported in the 700 block of Comanche Lane. Dispatch advised officer that a female that had caused the problems left on foot heading for Cheyene Court. Officer located the female and asked her what happened. She stated she went over to a friend’s house and a male there was mean and pushed her around. She also stated her friend’s son hit and pushed her to the ground. Officer responded to the residence and spoke with the male RP. He stated he doesn’t care for this female, she started talking to him and he ignored her. He said she got mad and started calling him names. He stated a physical altercation happened and she left the residence. The female was warned for disorderly conduct and told she would be charged if the police had to come back out and deal with her. It was also explained she would be charged with trespassing if she returns to this residence.
10:27 p.m. Drug offense in the 500 block of W. Walnut Street. Officer dispatch on the report that a resident had been facetiming with the RP and there had been marijuana use in the background. Officer observed two males sitting on couches playing on their phones. On the coffee table in front of them was a sandwich bag of a leafy green substance. When the officer knocked on the door a male took the bag and stuffed it into his waist area. The resident answered the door, allowed the officer to step inside the residence and heard the reason why the officer was there. Collin Hanna produced the bag from his right front pocket and was charged with possession of drugs.
Friday, February 10
3:13 a.m. Disturbance in the 10’s block of Bowman Avenue. RP advised of a verbal altercation between himself and Austin Law (who had a warrant out of Miami County). Law was found in the RP’s basement and officer immediately smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on or about his person. Law advised the RP had provided the alcohol. Law was transported to the Miami County Incarceration Facility where he confirmed to the corrections officer he was intoxicated. Law was charged with underage consumption by the Tipp City officer.
11:00 a.m. Update on an incident that occurred on Jan. 19, 2017 in the 100 block of W. Main Street. Logan Egan was served with a citation for Disorderly Conduct.
11:05 p.m. Traffic stop for speeding in the 300 block of Park Avenue. When the officer approached the vehicle, the driver mumbled “here you go” and was holding his driver’s license. Officer immediately smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on or about the driver, identified as Todd L. Belden. When asked, he admitted he had probably drank three beers. Belden was asked and agreed to submit to a series of standardized field sobriety tests. Unable to complete them as instructed, Belden was placed under arrest for OVI. He was transported back to the PD where he agreed to a breath test with a result of 0.123% BAC. Belden was cited for OVI, Speed and Expired Registration.
Saturday, February 11
9:44 a.m. Unruly juvenile in the 200 block of S. Second Street. A 15 year old female juvenile left a relative’s residence the night before without permission. Mom attempted to contact the female all night but was unable to do so. Through a third-party mom believed the juvenile had an Uber Driver pick her up at the relative’s house and take her to a friend’s house in Miami Township. Officer requested dispatch contact the Miami Township and request they check the friend’s residence. They located the juvenile, transported her to their PD where mom picked her up. Mom advised the officer that she has had trouble with the female in the past. It was suggested she contact Miami County Juvenile Court and file an unruly juvenile charge on her daughter.
9:41 p.m. Traffic stop for speeding in the area of S. Country Road 25A and Commerce Park Drive. Contact was made with the driver, Scott Michael Strawser and a female passenger. Officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle and asked Strawser if he had been drinking that evening. He stated no and the passenger said it was her that had been drinking. Officer asked Strawser again if he had been drinking, he paused and then said he did have a couple of beers that evening. Strawser was asked and agreed to a series of standardized field sobriety tests. Unable to complete the tests as instructed, Strawser was placed under arrest for OVI and transported to the TCPD. He agreed to provide a breath sample with a result of 0.238% BAC. Strawser was charged with OVI and Speed and released to a sober adult.
11:46 p.m. Underage party in the 10’s block of Kiser Drive. Officers were dispatched to a residence on the report of an underage party in which juveniles were possibly drinking and smoking marijuana. Officers detected a strong smell of burnt marijuana from the roadside. Officers approached a detached garage and the smell became stronger and they could hear individuals talking inside of the closed garage. Through a window an officer observed eight (8) individuals, both male and female, sitting in a circle. The garage was hazy, filled with smoke and the individuals were passing and smoking what appeared to be a blunt. Officer knocked several times on the locked door which was eventually opened by a male, identified as Austin Persinger. The door opened and the source of the burnt marijuana became evident. Officers entered the garage and found eight (8) individuals. Officers identified themselves and explained the reason they were at the residence. The individuals were asked who had been smoking marijuana with nobody admitting to smoking or having any in their possession. At this point officers began searching the individuals with only one juvenile male found to be in possession of contraband (a plastic baggie of marijuana and a package of cigars). While the individuals were being processes, the mother of a juvenile and renter of the residence, arrived home. She was requesting that Dameek Curry-Baker be trespassed from the residence. Curry-Baker was advised he was not to return to this residence or he would face charges. Also found in the residence was marijuana and a cup with remnants of a cigar (commonly gutted and marijuana placed in them). Nobody claimed the marijuana and cup so the juvenile living there was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. At the conclusion of this call Dinicko V. Smith, Makayla R. Dickerson, Austin L. Persinger, Dameek Curry-Baker. They were released to sober adults.
Juvenile Male (age 17) was charged with Underage Possession of Tobacco and Possession of Marijuana and release to a family member. Juvenile Female (age 15) was charged with Disorderly Conduct while Voluntarily Intoxicated and released to a family member.. Female Juvenile (age 17) was charged with Disorderly Conduct while Voluntarily Intoxicated, Possession of Marijuana and Possession Of Marijuana Paraphernalia and released to a family member
Sunday. February 12
2:21 p.m. Civil dispute in the 100 block of S. Tippecanoe Drive. Father wanted his adult son to move out of the residence. Officer explained to the son since he wasn’t on the lease he would have to leave per his father’s wishes. Officer stood by while the son removed his belongings and returned the house key. He was also advised to return to the residence with an officer for a keep the peace when he decides to retrieve the rest of his personal property.
7:07 p.m. Disorderly conduct reported in the 1200 block of Sequoia Court. Verbal dispute between male and female over custody issues. Both were warned for disorderly conduct.
7:27 p.m. Suspicious noise in the 600 block of S. Hyatt Street. RP described the noise outside of her residence as possibly a motor and it was loud enough to bother her insider her residence. Officer arrived at her home and was unable to hear anything out of the ordinary. The RP was advised to call back if she heard the noise again.
Monday, February 13
9:38 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of Westedge and Bellaire Drive. Matthew Percel was found driving under suspension. His license plates were confiscated on behalf of the BMV. The vehicle was towed by the impound lot.
Tuesday, February 14
7:31 p.m. Disturbance reported in the 700 block of Comanche Lane. Upon officer’s arrival, a group of people were found standing in front of the apartments in a verbal argument. All were warned for disorderly conduct and told to stay at their own apartments.
